THE GIFT OF INSPIRATION

Stories are some of the most powerful and influential things a child will ever encounter. Children should hear good stories, positive stories, and inspiring stories. Stories help children learn what it means to love God and to love your neighbor as yourself. When the stories are true—about real people and real life—children should hear them more than once. They should hear them again and again, reinforcing the positive messages and incorporating them into their own character. I know from experience that the right story, at the right time, can literally change the course of a young child’s life. They’ve changed mine.

My name is Renee Meloche, and over 20 years ago, while serving overseas as a missionary, I originally had the vision to write a series of books to inspire children. I believed then, as I believe now, that God put this special vision in my heart as my primary ministry. Seeing the vision fulfilled was not necessarily easy, and it was not fulfilled overnight; in fact, it took 20 years and a lot a time, prayer, and hard work to see the first book actually published. But that vision is finally here: there are now 16 hardcover books in the collection all with beautiful original watercolor illustrations, along with four CDs and four activity guides, all published by YWAM Publishing. Now approaching 200,000 copies in print, I am delighted to see and hear about how they are inspiring children at home and around the world. They can inspire the children in your life too!
